Everyone is going crazy over the 2008 presidential election and for good reason. This election very well could be the defining moment for America.

I cannot believe how shallow and short sided our political system has become. The presidency of the United States is serious business, at least it used to be serious business. Anymore it seems like a soap for daytime television. The most qualified people it seems never even get a shot at the White House because there isn’t enough contoversy and drama surrounding them.

Here is what I think about the Barack Obama race issue.

Barack Obama is a dangerous person to have in the White house, not so much for his church affiliation, but for his lack of understanding concerning foregin policy. The United states cannot back down from its original stance on foreign policy and any political leader who is really educated about the world wide political process understands this. It doesn’t matter whether our previous stance is right or wrong in the manner of public opinion, it is that the United states must stand firm in its views as a nation or we will loose everything that we stand for.

North Korea cannot be dealt with in the traditional diplomatic way, nor can Iran, Cuba and other nations who boldly defy the rights of human beings to live in peace.

I am also sick of the poor black man mentality. This is not a view that I believe Barack holds personally, but he is playing to this movement and this will by no means bring unity. blacks were treated unfairly and it isn’t right what this nation did to other human beings, but the were has passed and now it doesn’t matter what color you are, you have the ability to rise above your circumstance no matter what it is and become a better human being.

The reason why blacks and whites in low income situations stay there is because they are lead to believe that we live in an unfair world where there is no hope. The world may be unfair, but the United States is the most fair nation on the planet when it comes to an individual being able to accomplish his or her dreams. If someone believes that because they live in the hood that they cannot rise above it, finish school, go to college and get out, they have bought into the lie that the governement is the only entity that can help. My advice is for people to quit feeling sorry for themselves and rise up in who they are. Everyone has gifts and abilities that other people do not have. The key is to use the talents that you have to rise above your circumstance and overcome any adversity.

Blacks are just as capable as whites and visa versa. God is not a God of color and it is foolish to put such a limitation on the almighty. my understanding of God is that if we truly saw Him for who He is, no one would be able to stand, or even live for that matter in His presence.

Everyone is not a racist and for this important election to be reverting back to the old mentality in a world that requires new direction is sad and in my view dangerous.
